Mother and Child imageHead Start is a family-focused, quality preschool program. It has proven success in promoting the growth and development of three and four year old children, including children with special needs.  Parents and teachers work together to plan activities that are developmentally appropriate.  Children learn to accept themselves, explore their environment, and learn on an individual basis and as part of a group.  Parents take part in special training that helps them learn and grow with their child.

Who is enrolled in Head Start?
Children 3 and 4 years of age,
Families who meet federal income guidelines,
(10% of enrolled children may be over federal income guidelines,)

Every child takes part in a variety of learning experiences and individual activities to promote his/her intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and self-help development.

Social Services
