The Semcac Board of Directors is looking for volunteers to represent the interests of its consumers (clients of Semcac's programs). The Semcac Board includes three groups: 1/3 represent public officials; 1/3 represent the consumer; and 1/3 represent private, community organizations.
The individuals elected as consumer representatives will work with the other board members to determine goals and set policies for Semcac, a private, non-profit corporation. Consumer representatives are needed in the following counties: Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Steele and Winona.
Board meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at the St. Charles Community Center. Board representatives are reimbursed for mileage and child care during their participation on the Board. The individuals elected to fill these positions will complete a term up to four years, beginning in April 2011.
If you are interested in serving on the Semcac Board as a consumer representative, an application may be obtained by calling your local Semcac Contact Center or the Semcac main office at (507) 864-8202. Your service is needed to ensure that the issues facing low-income people are addressed! Please share this opportunity with anyone that might be interested in serving on the Semcac Board. Further information is available by calling Mary Jo Grimsrud at (507) 864-8202 or e-mailing maryjo.grimsrud@semcac.org.
