An open house for Semcac's new Dodge County Contact Center and Food Shelf was held on Friday, January 8. Over 60 community members visited the new location at 20 East Veteran’s Memorial Highway in Kasson.
The activity level at the Contact Center and Food Shelf has been high since opening in the new location on November 2. The food shelf’s first month in Kasson saw 260 visits from individual households—more than any other month this year! Office manager Marty Pogalz said, “Our clients continue to comment on the easier access to the office and the more space to maneuver through the food shelf. After visiting the office and shopping through the food shelf, the many positives of the new location really come to light for people.”
Senior & Caregiver Advocate, Melissa Almer, also reports having more visitors at the Kasson site. Almer has been busy helping seniors enroll in Medicare D and access other resources to meet their daily living needs. She said, “The parking, building entrance and office environment really is more comfortable, even more so for our clients who are elderly.”
