Semcac Clinic: Birth Control & Exams
The Semcac Clinic in Winona provides high quality family planning services and education for everyone—males, females, students, singles, couples, Minnesota residents, Wisconsin residents, and all income levels. All fees for services are based on annual household income and the number of household members supported by that income.

The One program links patients with the Minnesota Family Planning Program, which is a healthcare program that covers family planning services and related supplies. If you live paycheck to paycheck, don't have a job, or are a student, chances are high that you can receive family planning services at absolutely no cost to you.
Many services are covered in full
Annual exam (pelvic, pap smear, breast exam, blood pressure and other vital signs)
Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections identified during an annual exam
Birth control - the pill, the patch, the shot and the ring
Emergency contraception
Family planning education
You may qualify
Are between 15 and 50 years of age
Minnesota resident
U.S. citizen (or non-citizen eligible to participate in federally-funded programs)
Not pregnant
Not enrolled in Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare, General Assistance Medical Care or another state-funded program
Earn no more than the weekly income limits depending on family size (i.e., $451 for family of 1, $607 for family of 2, $763 for family of 3, $919 for family of 4) If you're a student, your parent's income is not a factor in determining eligibility. Any assets such as a car or house do not count against you.
Private health insurance does not affect your eligibility.

Bring proof of your income: paystubs within the last 30 days or a letter from your employer verifying weekly wages.
Bring proof of citizenship: copy of your birth certificate or passport AND a photo ID such as a driver's license or student photo ID. Immigration documents are accepted in place of a birth certificate.

The Semcac Family Planning Clinic follows all state and federal privacy laws.
You do not need anyone's consent to receive services at the clinic.
Any communication from us can be sent to an address of your choice.
If you're a student, we do not ask for information about your parent's income.
