Who is a Volunteer Driver?
They are men and women willing to share their time and vehicle to help meet the transportation needs of their community. They provide transportation for local trips and long distance trips to
Rochester, La Crosse and Minneapolis.

If you have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, a good driving record, and are 21 or older, you can become a Volunteer Driver and make a difference in your community.

Semcac Transportation - Volunteer Driver Program.

The Volunteer Driver Program tries to fill every ride request, but occasionally the demand for rides exceeds the supply of volunteer drivers. Please give your dispatcher a minimum of 48 hours advance notice.

Each month riders are sent a letter requesting a donation toward the cost of their rides. Local rides 10 miles or less are $5.50 round trip. The cost for trips of more than 10 miles is $.995 per mile.

To schedule a ride, please call the dispatcher indicated for your county. Ride requests can be made 24 hours a day. Please leave a message on the dispatcher's answering machine. Rides are confirmed no later than noon the day before the requested ride. Persons requesting rides that cannot be arranged will be notified by noon the day before the requested ride.
