Semcac is seeking funding and donations for constructing a new facility on land purchased in Austin, MN – located in Mower County. This new facility will allow for Semcac to combine services in that county, under one roof which will be more convenient and efficient for clients and staff. The plans for this location include the following:

1- Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms – for approx. 100+ income-eligible students (free pre-K education) & offices for Head Start staff.

There will be increased capacity for Early Head Start/toddler classrooms.

2- Mower County Contact Office – Outreach & Emergency Services offices for staff members (providing homelessness prevention, food security, government program application assistance, community resources/referrals, etc.)

3- Office for Mower County Weatherization staff

4- Commercial kitchen for Senior Nutrition program.

We are hopeful to construct the new facility with all components listed, by 2026, pending funding availability.  You can donate for this project!
