Senior Nutrition – Head Cook – Red Wing

JOB STATUS: Senior Nutrition is hiring a full-time Head Cook at our Red Wing location. Monday – Friday, 5 a.m. – 1 p.m. 40 hours per week.  No evenings, weekends, or holidays.

LOCATION: Red Wing, MN

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or general education degree and one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

JOB DUTIES: Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the preparation, service, and clean-up of cooks and other kitchen personnel engaged in the food service in the Red Wing kitchen. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervises and directs personnel involved in preparing, cooking, and serving menu items, and in clean-up, to assure that the food is prepared correctly, served on time, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean, orderly manner. Participates equally in performing these tasks.
  • Food Delivery.  Kitchen cleaning and sanitation.
  • Interviewing, training and evaluating performances of employees and volunteers;
    planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Estimates food and supply needs, reviews inventory, and purchases supplies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings and trainings to maintain food service certification and stay abreast of food service and program changes.

COMPENSATION: $18.35-$22.02.  Higher starting rates are available for those with 10 or more years of direct experience.  Semcac offers competitive wages and Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, 11 paid holidays, and a generous PTO plan.
