Semcac Senior Service programs strive to empower, support and improve the quality of life for senior citizens in the southeastern MN communities. The services provided by Semcac encompass personal wellbeing, health, independence and support for seniors.

The Senior Services department consists of the following programs
Senior Nutrition
The mission of these senior nutrition programs is to promote the independence, dignity, good health and nutritional wellbeing of older persons. Meals are healthy, balanced and low cost.
Meals on Wheels is for homebound seniors or those confined to their home who are unable to prepare a balanced meal who are age 60 or older. This program is offered in the counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Steele and Winona. EBT cards are welcome.
Senior Dining is open to anyone age 60 or older and their spouses. No one is denied a meal because they are unable to contribute to a suggested donation. EBT cards are welcome. This program is offered in the counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha and Winona.
Mobile Meals – Owatonna is a program for seniors confined to their home who are unable to prepare a balanced meal who are age 60 or older. The program is offered in the city of Owatonna; Steele County. Recipients pay $5.50 per meal unless they qualify for waivered meal costs. Meals are delivered to the senior’s home by volunteers. Semcac’s Senior Nutrition Services make every effort to accommodate hearing or visually impaired persons. Managers and/or volunteers can read menu or nutrition education materials to the visually impaired upon request. Additonally, TTY/TDD services are available.

Senior & Caregiver Advocacy
The Senior & Caregiver Advocacy program focuses on supporting and empowering seniors, as well as caregivers, by addressing their individual needs and preferences so that they may remain living safely and independently in their own homes as long as possible. This program is for anyone age 60 and older, adults of any age who have disabilities or are on Medicare, family members who help elders with daily tasks. This program is offered in the counties of Fillmore, Houston, Dodge and Steele.
We have a Senior & Caregiver Advocate on staff who practices sign language.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is no longer being administered by Semcac due to funding reductions. If you are interested in a program similar to this in the Rushford area, refer to Catholic Charities. Thank you.
