Winona Contact Office & Clinic Relocation

As of October 1, 2019, Semcac’s Winona County Contact Office and Semcac Clinic will be relocated. The move will support a growing partnership with Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center; Semcac Clinic and Semcac’s Winona County office will be moving from the current location in downtown Winona, to the Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center (HVMHC) building. On July 1, 2019, Semcac is pleased to welcome a new Executive Director, Doug Grout, to the Semcac family. Doug has dedicated his career to helping people. He has experience working with low-income households, people with disabilities, seniors, immigrants and minorities. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to learn and employ techniques in team building and management. Doug has a strong background of over 25 years’ experience working in the public and nonprofit sector. Food Shelves – Open Your Heart to Hungry & Homeless in July

Semcac’s Food Shelves Are Participating in Open Your Heart to the Hungry & Homeless The four Semcac Food Shelves are participating in the 2019 Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless Summer Challenge, a donation drive sponsored by Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless and Hunger Solutions, that takes place in July. As a member of Hunger Solutions Minnesota, Semcac is eligible to receive a percentage of grant funds designated for this challenge. Senior Dining Manager Awarded by Chamber of Commerce

Victoria Fenty, Semcac's Senior Dining Site Manager in LaCrescent was awarded the "Share the Spirit Award" by the LaCrescent Chamber of Commerce, on March 20, 2019! FoodShare March Campaign, Food Shelf Challenge

37th Annual Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign Food insecurity means people do not have access to enough food for every person at all times to have an active, healthy life.  This can affect people’s wellness and their ability to function at school or work.  Food insecurity affects nearly 1 in 10 Minnesotans, 1 in 8 children, and the number of seniors facing food insecurity continues to increase. In 2018, Semcac food shelves in Rushford, Preston, Caledonia, and Kasson served 1,284 households with 7,632 visits and distributed 355,412 pounds of food. Mechanical & Electrical Contractors Wanted, for Energy Programs

Semcac is seeking electrical, appliance and mechanical contractors. Work is performed in Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Steele, Olmsted and Winona counties. Contractors must have current bonds, licenses, insurance and ability to work in accordance with MN energy program policies, standards and requirements.
