Breaking Ground for New Transit Building in Kasson

Semcac invites the press and community to attend the groundbreaking of their new Transportation building, which will be constructed in Kasson, located behind Kasson City Hall. The event will take place on July 30th, 2018 at 401 Commerce Drive SE in Kasson at 2:00pm. Semcac’s Transportation Department has grown significantly in the past four years. Semcac offers affordable public bussing transportation, otherwise known as Rolling Hills Transit, as well as rides for seniors and qualified Medicaid recipients via the Volunteer Driver Program. Food Shelves Participate in Open Your Heart to the Hungry & Homeless

All four of the Semcac food shelf locations are participating in the 2018 Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless Summer Challenge, a donation drive sponsored by Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless and Hunger Solutions, that takes place in July. As a member of Hunger Solutions Minnesota, Semcac is eligible to receive a percentage of grant funds designated for this challenge. AmeriCorps LEAP (Learning Early Achieves Potential) Initiative members serve in preschool classrooms and nonprofit organizations and focus on the social and emotional development of young children in Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation's 20-county region. We recruit, connect, and match members to site service partner positions to help work one-on-one with preschool children who are at-risk of falling behind. Senior Dining 1st Soup Contest

  Pride in Food Service Week – February 5-9, 2018 Semcac's Senior Nutrition Program  provides meals for congregate diners and to Meals on Wheels recipients that live independently in their own homes or apartments.  To serve some of these clients, we operate eight kitchens.  These kitchens produce approximately 1,000 noon meals per day.  The meals are prepared from scratch with menus and recipes consistent throughout the service area.   In these kitchens, there are 2 to 3 cooking staff.  Throughout the year, the Head Cooks come together to receive training. Semcac's public busing, Rolling Hills Transit, is seeking Requests for Quotes for new routing software. Requests are due April 16, 2018 by 4:00 pm CST. Seeking a vendor to provide the best value to meet our project needs. All vendors who complete the Request for Quotes form will be considered for this project.
