Freeborn County Communities Foundation Donates to Semcac
Semcac’s Continued Partnership with the Freeborn County Communities Foundation
In July 2026, Semcac’s Senior Services Department Meals on Wheels program was awarded $7,500 from the Carol E. Lundblad Foundation and the Kenneth W. Olson Charitable Foundation Fund affiliated with the Freeborn County Communities Foundation (FCCF). Freeborn County serves thousands of meals to over one hundred home-bound senior citizens. This grant will fund the Meals on Wheels program in Freeborn County, which served over 20,000 nutritious meals to home-bound senior citizens in 2025.
In addition, Semcac’s Rolling Hills Transportation Department was awarded $7,500 from the Carol E. Lundblad Foundation affiliated with the Freeborn County Communities Foundation. Semcac will utilize the grant received from the FCCF for the Rolling Hills Volunteer Drivers Program (VDP), which transports individuals to and from medical or dental appointments, Senior Dining Sites, and more.
Before November 2025, Rolling Hills VDP did not extend to Freeborn County. Since then, Rolling Hills VDP has provided over 160 rides thanks to funds such as the Carol E. Lundblad Foundation. These donations allow Semcac to offset funding gaps for clients, enabling the addition of a new program in Freeborn County that offers individuals access to easy and free transportation.
Semcac’s mission is to empower individuals and enhance their self-sufficiency through community resources. Through our partnership with the FCCF, Semcac can increase the breadth of our impact, specifically within the community where funds are received. Our goal has always been to embrace the idea of people helping people; utilizing funds from Freeborn for Freeborn allows us to give back to the community that has given to us.
Partnerships with local communities can only increase our ability to connect with each individual, allowing us to cater to each county’s needs, addressing where funds are needed most. Working with the FCCF will open up the possibility of future collaboration.
Thanks to our continued partnership with the Freeborn County Communities Foundation, Semcac will continue to fund the production of home-delivered meals through our Meals on Wheels program and donation-based rides through Rolling Hills VDP.
