Seeking Consumer Board Member, Freeborn County

Semcac is actively looking for a consumer board member in Freeborn County to be part of the Semcac Board of Directors.  Being part of this dynamic group presents an opportunity to enhance leadership skills, diversify personal and professional networks, and contribute to empowering people in Southeast Minnesota. Consumer board members can be Semcac clients/customers.

The current board consists of committed individuals who enjoy participating in their communities and having an impact on the Agency’s direction.   They are responsible for ensuring that Semcac fulfills its mission and maintains its financial health. The board oversees performance, establishes strategic goals, and leads the Agency through key policy decisions.  A board member commitments to a 4 year term, attends meetings and helps to mobilize resources.

Semcac is a Community Action agency with a tripartite Board of Directors consisting of 1/3 Consumers, 1/3 Public Officials and 1/3 Private Community Organizations. Read more about the Semcac Board of Directors on our website. 

Board meetings are held every second Monday of the month at the St. Charles Community Center located at 830 Whitewater Avenue. Meetings are typically held 6:30 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Board members can receive reimbursement for mileage and child care expenses.
