KASSON, Minn.- A non-profit organization is breaking ground on a new transit building in Kasson.

The Southeast Minnesota Community Action Agency, or SEMCAC, tells KIMT they have seen an uptick in the growing need for affordable transportation in the region.
The organization offers rides to seniors, medicaid recipients and kids.
The new construction will allow everything to be under one roof.
Before, buses, dispatch and management were all housed in different buildings.
SEMCAC’s executive director Wayne Stenberg tells KIMT a centralized location will help them better serve the community better.

“We’re your rural provider and we thought about where the location would best serve us as an agency and Kasson was a very suitable fit,” said Stenberg.

Construction is set to wrap up sometime next year.
