Winona Post – Semcac Clinic & Winona Contact Office Moving

October 2, 2019 By Semcac

Semcac Clinic & Winona contact office moving to Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center building

(9/25/2019)

As of October 1, 2019, Semcac’s Winona County contact office and Semcac Clinic will be relocated. The move will support a growing partnership with Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center; Semcac Clinic and Semcac’s Winona County office will be moving from the current location in downtown Winona to the Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center (HVMHC) building. The location was formerly Winona Health’s Urgent Care space and is located at 420 East Sarnia Street, Suite 1600.

The new location is a better fit for the services Semcac provides in Winona. It will offer more space for clients, patients and staff, which has been a concern since the Semcac Clinic and Winona County Contact office combined spaces after a fire in 2013. The space is designed as a professional medical facility, creating a better atmosphere for patients and clinic staff. Currently, services are provided in the Plaza Square Building which is not ideal for providing medical services. Semcac staff want to provide services in a space that will make patients/clients feel comfortable and welcome.

Semcac is looking forward to helping more people who need reproductive health services, crisis and outreach assistance, and homelessness prevention services in the area. Both Semcac and HVMHC will collaborate to provide warm referrals to clientele, as appropriate. This will be beneficial for clientele of both nonprofits.

Another big improvement for patients, clients and staff is that there will be parking available. The back parking lot of the building will have spaces for Semcac staff and visitors. In addition, the building is located along the bus line.

An open house event at the new Semcac location will be planned in the near future, scheduled in late October.
