Free Rapid HIV Testing – Rushford, Nov 28 by Semcac Clinic

Semcac Clinic will be offering FREE Rapid HIV Testing at the Tenborg Building in Rushford. When: November 28th, Tuesday, from 1:30 - 4:00 p  Only a quick, finger blood draw is performed, to get your results in 60 seconds! This opportunity is open to the general public and is made possible by grant funding from MN Dept of Health. Location: 113 East Jessie Street, Rushford  (Same building where the Rushford Food Shelf and Rushford Senior Dining are located.) You do NOT need health insurance to participate!  Know Your status. Aug. 1 – 8, Vote for Semcac Food Shelf on Facebook – Merchant Bank’s Swipe Out Hunger

Semcac has the opportunity to receive money from Merchants Bank’s Swipe Out Hunger campaign, which will run August 1-8. Merchants Bank will donate a nickel to Swipe Out Hunger every time a Merchants Bank credit card or debit card is used between those dates, up to a total of $10,000. Supporters of the Semcac Food Shelf can vote once a day at the Merchants Bank Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/MerchantsBank. At the end of the giveaway, the food shelf with the most votes will receive the top donation prize of $2,500, second place will receive $1,500 and third place will receive $1,000. [...]

Food Shelves Participate in Open Your Heart to Hungry and Homeless Challenge

Caledonia, Kasson, Preston & Rushford, Minn – All four of the Semcac food shelf locations are participating in the 2017 Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless Summer Challenge, a donation drive sponsored by Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless and Hunger Solutions, that takes place in July. As a member of Hunger Solutions Minnesota, Semcac is eligible to receive a percentage of grant funds designated for this challenge. Semcac Food Shelves Participate in MN FoodShare in March

Annual MN FoodShare, March Campaign Some people face food insecurity every day, while others struggle after an unexpected expense or decrease in income.  Hunger can lead to poor health or illness in addition to poor performance at school or work.  During 2016, Semcac food shelves in Rushford, Preston, Caledonia, and Kasson had 7,936 visits from 1,343 households and distributed 377,841 pounds of food. Clients are also provided with information and referrals to other community services.
