Spring Grove council supports Semcac dining by: Craig Moorhead, Government/Sports Writer |  Wednesday, February 24, 2016 1:34 PM On Feb. 16, the Spring Grove City Council voted to join with the city's Commercial Club and Lions to support Semcac’s senior dining. Taking up a request from that agency, which was tabled in January, city officials approved a $950 donation to Semcac to maintain congregate dining at its Spring Grove site, as well as its Meals-on-Wheels program, which goes throughout the community. March is Minnesota Food Share Month The effects of hunger for an individual or family can range from poor health and slowed recovery from injury or illness to poor performance at school or work.  During 2015, Semcac Food Shelves in Rushford, Preston, Caledonia, and Kasson had 8,215 visits from 1,388 households and distributed 378,046 pounds of food. Clients are also provided with information and referral to other community services.
